HOW DO I KNOW IF

coaching is right for me?

The short answer: if you're a human.

But assuming you would like a little more clarification, let me explain.

Our coaches are all trained in trauma-informed care. That does not mean that you need to have experienced a single catastrophic event to use our services.

IN FACT, AN ESTIMATED 70% OF ADULTS IN THE UNITED STATES HAVE EXPERIENCED A TRAUMATIC EVENT AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIVES. THE REALITY IS THAT ONLY A SMALL PERCENTAGE DEVELOP POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, OR PTSD, THAT REQUIRES THE INTERVENTION OF A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL.

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THE REST OF US WITHOUT PTSD?

Trauma is a fact of life.

We all experience it and the debilitating consequences that come with it, regardless of whether it develops into PTSD or not.

And trauma isn't just what we judge as the "big stuff," like war or abuse or natural disaster or loss.  It's also the stuff we've grown to normalize, like

  • growing up in poverty,

  • bearing witness to domestic violence,

  • enduring a serious or chronic illness,

  • having a learning disability that leaves you doubting your abilities,

  • or parents who are so wrapped up in their own problems that they unintentionally neglect your needs.

The list goes on.

Trauma left unresolved can lead to a life spent in survival mode, afraid to plant roots, to plan for the future, to trust, and to let joy in.

The wonderful news is you can GROW from it and experience true genuine fulfillment. It takes a shift from surviving to thriving, and it's not simple.

But trust me when I say there is more to life than surviving.

WELL, HOW DO I DO THAT?

Even though the adversity trauma brings seems debilitating at the time, it's actually one of most important ingredients to greatness.  It's like a superpower you never asked for, but you just have to learn how to use it.

Our coaches can help answer some questions about what might be considered trauma and the ways it could be manifesting in your current life.  Very often, trauma takes time to reveal itself, courage to peel back layers to confront our past, and strength to step out of your history and onto the path of your future.  Whatever is holding you back from making your dreams come true, we can help.  And further, we can help you to change your narrative and use your challenges to be an even better version of yourself.

Plus, did you know coaching allows you to experience REAL & SUSTAINABLE results that you can notice in shorter amounts of time than traditional talk therapy?

Many of our clients come to us after feeling as if they hit a ceiling in therapy and are looking to take their healing journey to new heights.

Because trauma is so pervasive, it may have you struggling and feeling a lack of fulfillment in various arenas of your life, like relationships, career, or parenting.  We have the capability to address and guide you through all of these.

Do you get uncomfortable when things seem to be going well? When we get used to a chaotic environment, our nervous system believes it to be familiar and comforting. We tend to seek it out when we get "bored" and it can have negative effects on our quality of life.

Social anxiety manifests in various ways, and can look different for different people. When you face adversity or trauma, there is a potential to internalize beliefs about yourself, and if left unhealed, can lead to fears of social situations.
